Global Energy Interconnection (GEI) Technology & Equipment Innovation Outline (2018-2025) report was released at the conference held on 28 to 29 March in Beijing, China.
Since 2017, Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) has widely gathered GEI related information, made comprehensive analyses and scientific appraisals on key technologies and core equipment for the construction of the global backbone grid. Having consulted over 100 experts from members of GEDCO, including China Electric Power Research Institute, NARI Group, Xuji Group, Pinggao Group, State Grid Economic and Technological Research Institute, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, etc., GEDCO has accomplished the compilation of Global Energy Interconnection Technology & Equipment Innovation Outline ( 2018-2025 ). This report relates to four technical fields: UHV & new types of transmission, smart grid, clean energy, and interconnected power grid operation and control. For equipment in each technical field, the current development state; future demands and research direction are analyzed; corresponding roadmap for innovation actions is put forward. The report provides a guide and reference for research institutes, manufacturers in the power and energy sector and other parties that engage in the development of GEI.
