Florence School of Regulation training course

Today, energy market players are facing a complex and frequently evolving regulatory environment. The Regulation on Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT) adds another level to this complexity, prohibiting market manipulation, insider trading, and imposing various new obligations on market participants. The Florence School of Regulation is organising a new training course on REMIT to respond to the needs of energy lawyers, regulatory staff and employees of energy companies to stay abreast of these regulatory changes, and to develop a new set of expertise to apply REMIT’s provisions.

This one-day training course consists of 3 sessions and provides a comprehensive overview of the current regulatory regime of wholesale energy markets. The sessions will focus on: (1) national implementation of REMIT and enforcement rules (2) definitions of market abuse (3) reporting requirements under REMIT and financial market regulations applied to the energy sector.
