Florence School of Regulation

The Florence School of Regulation (FSR) has established as a center of excellence for independent discussion and dissemination of knowledge regarding European regulation and policy. FSR delivers high-quality and relevant academic thinking on EU policy and regulation in the areas of Energy, Climate, Energy Union Law, Communications & Media, Transport and Water. For over a decade, the school has provided advanced professional training while organizing a wide range of events which brings together the leading representatives of academia, private companies and regulators.

Mission

Through applied research, policy dialogue and innovative training, FSR aims at improving the quality of regulatory policy in the crucial sectors of the European economy. FSR was founded in 2004 by three European regulators in the energy sector. Since its creation the FSR has been providing a unique forum where European and national regulators, utilities, policy-makers and academics meet, discuss and get trained.

GOVERNANCE-Institutionally, FSR sits as a programme of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies of the European University Institute in Florence, Europe’s intergovernmental institution for doctoral and postdoctoral studies and research.
