Smart Grid Mexico

Smart Grid Mexico is a non-governmental organization whose purpose is to promote the development and implementation of technological solutions that increase the efficiency of energy sector in Mexico, by integrating a community of collaboration and exchange that promotes the development of Smart Grids in our country, facing new economic, social and environmental challenges and opportunities.

Mission

To encourage the development and establishment of smart grids in Mexico regarding reliability, efficiency, security and sustainability principles.

Main Goals
  • to link together research and education institutions with industry in order to encourage and lead research and development activities, as well as educational programs about Smart Grid in Mexican context and needs.
  • to link together public and private institutions in order to allow the harmonic growth of Smart Grid’s solutions in Mexico preserving the public interest.
 Background

Our recent creation came along with the energy reform laws in Mexico, released in 2014, in order to accompany this important national effort.
