The Jamaican government is to spend J$695m in the 2017-18 financial year to enhance the country’s energy efficiency and energy conservation measures in the public sector. Implemented by the Ministry of Science, Energy and Technology, it is expected that the measures will enable the execution of an energy efficiency/conservation baseline awareness survey, the establishment of a National Energy Efficiency Institute, and the development of national guidelines for the disposal of hazardous waste.
