UK operator of gas distribution network, Wales and West Utilities (WWU), has been selected by utility firm National Grid for the rollout of a smart meter project. Some 10,000 smart meters will be installed for customers of the National Grid in Wales and the utility’s service territories in the south-east of England.
To date, WWU has installed 200 smart electric meters under its contract with National Grid. To complete the installation in line with National Grid’s deadline, WWU has trained and assigned some ten personnel to its number of engineers installing advance metering infrastructure units for National Grid.
