French distribution system operator Enedis outperformed other utilities with best practices in six out of the seven smart grid ‘dimensions’ evaluated in the annual index. These are monitoring and control, data analytics including smart meter coverage, distributed energy resource integration, green energy, cyber security and customer empowerment and satisfaction, with supply reliability as measured by SAIDI and SAIFI. With this Enedis, which also gained an improved score, retains its top position from 2021. Tying in second place are Taiwan Power Company and UK Power Networks and in
fourth place Consolidated Edison from the US and Western Power Distribution from GB. Australia’s CitiPower is the sixth utility to achieve a score over 90, albeit with a slight decline in its overall performance since 2021.
