Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) will set up a Asia's largest Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant in Mumbai with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) at an investment of around Rs 500 crore, said Ashu Shinghal, Managing Director, MGL in an exclusive interview with ET Energyworld. "He added that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between MGL and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to set up a Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plant with a processing capacity of 1000 tons daily. The CBG feedstock, which consists of waste collected from local hotels, restaurants, banquet halls, and vegetable markets, will be managed by BMC."
