Spain has increased its energy storage target by 2030 to 22.5 GW includes solar thermal capacity. The Spanish government, through the Ministry of Ecological Transition (MITECO), has passed a royal decree that updates the country’s National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) targets between 2023-2030. The country aims to launch a manufacturing scheme for renewables and energy storage, which will have a provision of €750 million (US$835 million).
